Design and Display

The OnePlus Nord 6 features a slim and modern design, built with an all-plastic frame and back that keeps the device lightweight while maintaining durability. On the rear, a square-shaped camera module houses the dual-camera system along with an LED flash, giving the phone a clean and contemporary look. Weighing approximately 217 grams, it is slightly heavier than the OnePlus Nord 5, but still comfortable for daily use. The inclusion of an X-axis linear vibration motor enhances the overall haptic experience with precise feedback.

Durability is a strong point here, as the Nord 6 comes with an extensive range of ingress protection ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, IP68K, and IP69K, ensuring excellent resistance against dust and water. The device is available in three stylish finishes: White, Black, and Mint.

On the front, the smartphone features a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with high-frequency PWM dimming, designed to reduce eye strain during extended usage. It supports an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate—comparable to flagship devices like the OnePlus 15—making it one of the smoothest displays in its segment. The panel also delivers up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness, ensuring clear visibility even under bright outdoor conditions. An optical in-display fingerprint sensor is included, although an ultrasonic alternative would have been a more premium addition at this price.

Performance and Software

Powering the Nord 6 is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, built on an efficient 4nm process. This processor has already demonstrated strong performance in devices like the Nothing Phone 3, achieving AnTuTu scores exceeding 2.5 million. Compared to the previous generation, users can expect a noticeable performance improvement over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 found in the Nord 5.

The device handles demanding games such as PUBG and BGMI with ease, supporting up to 165 FPS gameplay for a smooth and responsive gaming experience. It also incorporates the G2 WiFi chip, first introduced with the OnePlus 15, ensuring faster and more stable connectivity.

The Nord 6 is equipped with up to 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage and 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, enabling fast data access and efficient multitasking. On the software side, it runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, offering fluid animations and a refined user interface. OnePlus has also committed to 4 major Android updates and up to 6 years of security updates, making it a reliable choice for long-term use.

Camera and Battery

The camera system is where some compromises are evident. The Nord 6 features a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a color spectrum sensor. The main camera is expected to deliver solid results in well-lit conditions, though the ultrawide lens may not match its performance. Additionally, the front camera has been reduced to a 32MP sensor from the 50MP unit found on its predecessor.

Battery life is a major highlight of the device. The Nord 6 is equipped with a massive 9,000mAh battery—approximately 32% larger than the 6,800mAh unit in the Nord 5—offering exceptional endurance. It supports 80W wired charging, along with 55W PPS fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging for added versatility.
