Xiaomi 17 Pro Max – Full Review & Specifications
Design & Build
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max features a refined yet substantial design, weighing 219g and measuring 8mm in thickness. While noticeably heavier than the standard Pro (192g), it retains a slim and balanced profile in hand.
Xiaomi upgrades durability with Dragon Crystal Glass 3, offering improved resistance over the standard version used on the Pro model. The device is built around a premium aluminium alloy frame, maintaining the flat, modern aesthetic seen across the 17 series—clearly inspired by contemporary flagship design trends.
A standout element is the rectangular rear camera module, which integrates both the triple-camera system and a 2.9-inch secondary display. This design creates a prominent camera bump, while the display itself is uniquely shaped around the lenses and 3D ToF sensor, resulting in circular cutouts within the usable screen area.
The Pro Max is available in four finishes:
- Black
- Cold Smoke Purple
- Forest Green
- White
Display
The Pro Max steps up with a 6.9-inch primary display, a significant increase over the Pro’s 6.3-inch panel. This positions it firmly in the ultra-flagship category.
The display features:
- M10 LTPO AMOLED technology
- 12-bit color depth for smoother gradients and reduced banding
- Adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate
- Peak brightness of 3,500 nits
- DC dimming support
On the rear, the secondary display grows to 2.9 inches (up from 2.7 inches), now offering a resolution of 976 × 596 pixels. It enhances usability for:
- Notifications
- Music controls
- Selfie previews
- Interactive animations
Despite the camera cutouts, the larger size improves readability and interaction.
Both displays support 120Hz refresh rates and reach the same peak brightness levels.
Additionally, the Pro Max carries an IP68 rating, with Xiaomi claiming water resistance up to 6 meters, compared to 4 meters on the standard Pro.
Battery & Charging
One of the biggest highlights is the massive 7,500mAh battery, enabled by advanced silicon-carbon technology. Its L-shaped design maximizes internal space without increasing thickness.
Key features:
- 100W wired charging
- 50W wireless charging
- 22.5W reverse charging
Xiaomi’s Surge G2 battery management chip ensures long-term durability, maintaining up to 80% capacity after 2,000 charge cycles, making it ideal for extended heavy use.
